Originally from New York City and admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Florida, Laurie M. Lewis is a trial attorney in Grungo Colarulo’s Litigation Department. Prior to joining Grungo Colarulo, Laurie spent the first two years of her career working for one of the oldest private defense litigation firms in Albany, NY where she defended a variety of legal matters involving personal injury claims, commercial business disputes, contested matrimonial matters and contested trusts and estates matters. For the next eight years, Laurie served as in-house counsel for one of the nation’s leading property/casualty insurance companies, where she represented both individual and commercial corporate clients in connection with litigated claims arising out of automobile, trucking and motorcycle accidents as well as dog bites, premises, product and fire liability claims.

Throughout her career, Laurie has handled numerous matters involving complex personal injury litigation and has become an experienced litigator at both the trial and appellate levels of practice. Laurie also has extensive experience with motion practice and alternative dispute resolution and has been qualified to sit as an arbitrator in the New Jersey Civil Arbitration Program. Through her training and experience defending against personal injury claims, Laurie has gained invaluable knowledge and a unique insight into the defense process that will undoubtedly be of the utmost benefit to her clients.

Laurie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany in 2004 and her J.D., cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University in 2007, where she was elected as a member of the Justinian Society by reason of excellence in legal scholarship. Prior to her graduation from law school, Laurie was an intern for now retired Judge Karen A. Drago of the Schenectady County Court in Schenectady, New York and the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. In addition to her various State Court admissions, Laurie is admitted to practice in the Federal Courts of the States of New Jersey and New York. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys yoga, traveling, listening to music and spending time with her husband and two miniature schnauzers, Jackson and Josie.
